About Steph

To be a Yoga teacher is a dream come true and my passion is to help others to find a settled mind and healthy body, to enable and encourage everyone to enjoy our ridiculously precious life to the full! I qualified with Yoga Alliance in 2016 completing the AmiYoga 200hr qualification in Hull, UK with Ann-Marie Mainprize. The training course I took part in was an amazing experience and really changed my life in many ways. For more about how my love for Yoga began have a look at my blog!

I have trained in Functional Anatomy with Jambo Truong. This has given me a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and specialist massage techniques to relive pain and increase muscle function and flexibility.  I specialise in providing holistic yoga sessions which not only cover asanas and sequences but also incorporate massage, and the techniques from his training in 1:1 sessions.

I have completed a 40 hour Yoga Pregnancy training in London with Uma Dindsmore Tuli in March 2017, recognised by IYN. Uma is one of the most experienced and leading pregnancy yoga teachers in the country. To find out more about her work supporting and empowering women click here to explore her wealth of information.

In 2001 I graduated from The University of Humberside with a First class BA(Hons) degree in Illustration. After a short time of working for creative agencies and as a freelance artist I realised something was calling me to help people and especially children, more directly. This led me to gain a PGCE in Primary education. Prior to becoming a Yoga teacher I throughly enjoyed 14 years of working as a Primary School teacher in Hull, Middlesbrough and North Yorkshire, specialising in Early Years. I have met so many amazing and inspiring friends, colleagues, pupils and families along the way.

I love being "mammy" to a beautiful daughter, and our new little boy!

Along with my family and yoga, I love big open spaces, nature, water, big skies, Cleveland hills and moors, beaches, exploring, looking after our 3 whippets and menagerie of animals. Check out my blog for more about what makes me tick and 'everything yoga'!
